MY JOURNEY

Hi! I have chosen to start this project in graphic design freelance work, which has come about after applying for over 500 positions in the industry with little or no response, despite being qualified and experienced for over 5 years in the field.

My roots into graphic design started at an early stage way back in school. My two favourite subjects were IT and Graphics. Originally, I wanted to be a Vet and they were just subjects I decided to take as I enjoyed them, alongside Triple Science. But the further I dove into IT and Graphics the more passionate I became and decided to pursue that career path instead through higher education.

This all eventually led to me working for a small magazine company in Derby, where I created multiple magazines a month and distributed them around the city centre, building strong relationships with clients in the process. At the time, I was also on the Derby Pride committee and took on the job of creating their first ever event programme.

Then in 2020, the global pandemic hit and like many small businesses, the small magazine company had to close. Work for me has been hard to come by ever since. Throughout my time, since the lock down I have been doing numerous voluntary graphics projects including; charity posters and also leaflets for the 2024 general election for 4 candidates in the East Midlands. Now here I am, officially set up with my own platform to offer my services and a wider scale.
